Already in cinemas: ‘Kung Fu Jungle’ (HK/China)

Kung Fu JungleI’m late on this one — many thanks to Jerome for picking it up and letting us know on our Facebook page!

In Australian cinemas from October 30 (last week) is brand-new Donnie Yen action film Kung Fu Jungle, directed by Hong Kong director Teddy Chen (Bodyguards and Assassins) and starring Donnie and Wang Baoqiang (who has been doing action flicks lately, such as Iceman and Unbeatable).

Donnie Yen plays Ha, an older martial arts master who worked for the police as an instructor, but has been incarcerated for killing an opponent by accident. Three years on, they need his help: a killer has been targeting martial arts masters, and Ha’s expertise may be what they need to catch him. Chan’s film looks to wrap the traditional martial arts picture — of which Donnie’s a veteran — in a serial killer thriller, and it might well prove very interesting.

Distributor Vendetta Films says it’s in cinemas now in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane — see cinema websites for session details.

Here’s the trailer!
