Remastered and redubbed. Do I need to say anymore about
this classic? This post apocalyptic tale set in Neo-Tokyo was
the one that kickstarted many people’s interest in anime and
on the big screen, it still kicks arse. The new dubbing is
actually better but damn it, it’s Ka-nay-da, not Kah-nuh-da.
That aside, if like me, you never caught Akira on the
big screen – here’s your chance!
Thus Akira endeth my 4 days anime binge-fest, every
anime day felt like a luxury and a treat. I can’t wait till
it rolls around again and very happy to see that nearly all
the sessions I went to were sold out so I hope that sends a
message to all the powers that be that there is a market for
anime films here on the big screen!
