MIFF 2012: Accent on Asia

KOFFIA 2012 Lineup Released
The wait is over, and the hardworking folks at KOFFIA have released their festival lineup for this year. Twenty new feature films, three modern classics and a bunch of short films in three cities this time: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ in Melbourne for MIFF 2012
Our stats since the Sydney Film Festival suggest that a few people have hit the site looking for release info on Indian epic Gangs of Wasseypur in Australia. I’ve done some digging myself, and it doesn’t look like there’s a real Aussie release confirmed, but I thought I’d share this litte update: the Melbourne International Film Festival’s direct from Cannes update states that they’ve programmed both Part 1 and Part 2 of Wasseypur for their festival in August.

Madman and the ABC screening anime on iView
Via Madman’s blog comes the news that they’ve teamed up with the ABC’s iView service to bring Aussies a bunch of exclusive screenings for what looks like at least the next month or so. The goodies are:
